Microsoft 365
We stayed plugged into emerging trends by working closely with the Community team, who would flag timely moments for us to create and react to quickly, ensuring our content remained relevant and engaging. Approachable, low-production content outperformed polished creative, driving a stronger sense of relatability that elicited a more responsive audience.
The M365 team led a creative refresh of the Microsoft 365 X account beginning in September of 2025, testing new formats, tapping into trends, and leaning into relatability to better engage with our audience.
With our objectives including enhancing brand affinity and user interaction, as well as educating and building feature awareness, we leveraged social-forward tactics and joined trending conversations to increase engagement on the page and raise awareness for the Microsoft brand.
Simple concepts combined with our creative messaging proved to help audiences engage and share their points of view. The visual similarity to users’ feeds allowed us to stand out from overly branded or commercial content, helping fans avoid the scroll long enough to engage with our content.

2024 Microsoft Excel World Championship
The Excel World Championship, held in December 2024, showcased top global talent solving complex problems with Microsoft Excel, highlighting the platform's versatility and power. Our X campaign amplified the event’s humor and fan appeal through memes, interviews, and recap videos, driving excitement and brand awareness within
the Microsoft 365 community.
This year, Microsoft 365's social team was on the ground for the 2024 Excel World Championship. We came together to highlight the incredible scale and excitement happening in Vegas, capturing real-time, engaging content each day to help celebrate the intersection of productivity and play.
We aimed to create a recognizable and fun brand moment on the ground at the event and online. Fans praised our storytelling efforts and expressed excitement for the event. By actively sharing and celebrating the competition, fans and Excel enthusiasts also shared that they were looking forward to future Microsoft events.

PowerPoint
Night Campaign
The PowerPoint Night campaign brought the Microsoft 365 community together for a fun,
social-forward experience, encouraging users
to gather with friends and create lighthearted presentations. Microsoft 365 featured seven days of PowerPoint Night content, including static images and lofi videos, to join the broader conversation surrounding PowerPoint Night. As part of the campaign, five users were surprised with custom boxes to host their very own PowerPoint Night.
After seeing the success of nostalgic content and references from our community, we used this imagery to bolster the branding around PowerPoint Night. Using the universally loved Microsoft WordArt, we created a brand that seamlessly tied old with new, incorporating nostalgia and modern PowerPoint design elements across social media posts and print items for the PowerPoint Night boxes.
Print items included: stickers, a blanket, a thank-you card, a rules card, and custom-designed paddles.
Microsoft’s
50th Anniversary Celebration
Leading up to Microsoft’s 50th anniversary, we incorporated nostalgic themes to help our content resonate with fans. With a touch of nostalgic artifacts provided by the brand, we shared savable wallpapers featuring tips and tricks for each app.
Our legacy apps drew attention to our channel, allowing us to share educational content in a visually engaging way while also giving back to our community. PowerPoint in particular resonated with fans and became the top-performing content throughout the quarter on X.
